They Just Don't Get It

Trump nails it
It has to be said that the great Brexit betrayal has its lighter moments.

Jacob Rees Mogg's advice to us angry Brexiteers is, get this, to 'join the Conservative Party' and 'take back control'.

What? I mean what?

Was he coked out of his head?

Maybe it was a joke?

But if so, all I can say is that Goebbels never thought up that turn of the screw. Just imagine the pint-sized propaganda minister telling the Jews after Kristallnacht that those events were regrettable, but perhaps if they would join the Nazi Party and take back control everything would turn out fine.

And it's not just The Mogg who is acting weird.

Take David Davis, ex-SAS, best leader we never had, patriotic as they come and possessed of  integrity to five decimal places. Davis was our man in May's cabinet, the guarantor that we wouldn't be screwed by Remainer May. A sound man you would have thought. But also a man who allowed himself to be systematically humiliated for months and months before he finally threw in the towel and warned the rest of us what was going on.

Why didn't Davis tell us 6 months ago that his Brexit ministry was a sham that had been totally sidelined in negotiations with the EU? We who trusted him needed to understand what was going on. All we knew was that Remainers were mocking him for his laziness, when in fact he had nothing to do, because his job had been given to a Remainer civil servant.

Then there's Boris who correctly summed up the Chequers statement as 'a big turd' ... but then signed up to it anyway! Why?

But at least Johnson did finally resign.

What about all the other ministers who supposedly support Brexit but  remain in Theresa May's government like Michael Gove?

They are not defending a compromise. That could be justified. They are colluding in a total surrender to the EU. May's Chequer's statement actually puts us in a worse situation than we were in as members of the EU. Johnson's resignation letter aptly sums this up as the 'status of colony'.

And as he also points out, this abject surrender is merely 'our opening bid' in the coming negotiations. Theresa May will have to concede even more! God knows what! Maybe a yearly tribute of nubile virgins to the Commission?

But even worse than their betrayal is their pathetic spinelessness.

Before the meeting Brexit ministers were threatened with losing their ministerial cars and having to get a cab home. They had their phones confiscated like little schoolchildren. And finally these Ministers of the Crown were told that they couldn't change any detail in the statement because the German Chancellor Angela Merkel had approved it as it was!

And after all that those Brexiteer ministers meekly signed away Britain's future to remain in the government as the Remainers they are.

Why, why, why?

Why are good people like Rees-Mogg and Davis paralysed?

I think it comes down to two factors.

One,  they don't think there are the numbers in the Commons to pass a 'hard' (i.e., real) Brexit.

In this they are probably right.

The second factor is that they think a vote of no confidence would be lost and even if it were won the result would be another general election with the likely victory of never-saw-an-enemy-of-Britain-he-didn't-like Corbyn.

This also could happen.

But they don't get it.

We are not politicians. We are regular people. We won't accept being brazenly lied to on something so important.

We were promised that "Brexit means Brexit" and when we saw Boris Johnson and David Davis in the cabinet we believed it could happen.

But it was all a disgusting, bare-faced lie. Theresa May has betrayed us and we are not going to take it. This is just too important.

And we blame the Conservative Party. If this happens they are dead to us.

So we don't care about not having the numbers to pass Brexit.

We expect those Remain MPs who stood on Brexit party platforms to vote us a real Brexit. If they won't, let's see that with our own eyes so that we can hold them accountable.

And as regards the Corbyn danger, I say bring it on. The Labour Party have never had such a beatable candidate, and yes I include Gordon Brown in that. Corbyn's record of treachery and stupidity is so long and detailed that even the BBC cannot hide it. If you doubt that remember that even autistic May actually beat Corbyn in last year's election.

But what if the new Conservative leader were even more useless than May and the election resulted in a Labour government? Even that would not be worse than what we have now.

Because now we have a leader who is a proven liar on the most important issue of our times.

A woman who is despised by a majority of her own party members and whose party will be annihilated if they carry through this betrayal.

And finally how much worse could a Corbyn government really be than May's already is with its appeasement of Islam, its right-on social agenda, and its socialist economic policy?

So to those Conservative ministers and ex-ministers who are vacillating over bringing down traitor May, I say this:

You don't get it. If you remain paralysed by calculations of political advantage, you, your party and your country are finished.

May must go. Right now. Yesterday is too late.

  1. Good article, spoken like a real person as opposed to a duplicitous deadbeat politician like the above you name.
Given how things have panned out, I`d not be surprised if that whole carapace of Johnson, Davis and that new department created were not just straw men and Potemkin villages.
The big ministries stayed with Remain fanatics like Rudd and Hammond. Boris is a comedian, Davis needed a team with all the big hitters like Paterson, Rees Mogg and even unions , Gisela across the parties. This job was way too big, especially when the Treasury wilfully refused to plan for a "NO to Europe" vote. If Davis, Cash and Paterson etc, Gisela and Kate Hoey can now see that their whole lives have been leading to this-they could redeem it, and save the nation.
But if they prefer to be political outriders for their lying masters? As politicos are wont to do?-then we`ll have to sweep them up and let the civil war begin, before Islam smells our decay and decomposition as any kind of opposing fore to jihad.

  2. I'm not convinced that Johnson is just a comedian. Remember he won deep red London not once but twice and his resignation letter was on the money. I think the secret to understanding Johnson is his ambition to be PM.

I think you've got sth with the Potemkin village. As you say there is no planning for a no deal Brexit and why did Davis wait so long when his ministry was a total sham?

Like you, I think there are many many people out there who will refuse to take it. If it goes ahead the Conservative Party is dead. Maybe Ukip can replace them. There's a good man at the top there right now, Gerard Batten. But like you I think when they cynically lie and block democratic mandates that this must lead people to violence. They are not being left any other choice. Even demonstrations and activism like Tommy's is being stamped out.

But maybe when the vote for the Cons collapses that will open up the system. I hope so.
