The culture war is over and we lost.
For those who have any doubt about that I have two words for you:
Phil Shiner
Let's remind ourselves of the main points on Phil's rap sheet:
Shiner is the lawyer who put hundreds of innocent British soldiers through legal hell with false allegations of war crimes which caused untold stress and led to several suicide attempts.
He paid an Iraqi contact to drum up war crimes allegations.
Shiner brought so many trumped up cases against British soldiers that the government set up the Al- Sweady inquiry that cost £31 million.
Paid a witness to change his evidence in the Al-Sweady enquiry to hide his own malpractice.
Seriously undermined the effectiveness of the British Army.
After all that Shiner is still free as a bird.
The British Army will have to take greater risks in battle and our soldiers will die because of Shiner.
And to top everything off, after Shiner got away with all this, he was caught by the Insolvency Service transferring property, limited edition guitars, artwork and topping up his pension fund before declaring himself bankrupt.
They traced and seized some of it and gave him a ticking off. That's it. That's all!
What does a lying, criminal, treasonous lawyer have to do to see the inside of a prison cell?
Does Britain have a bigger enemy than Phil Shiner?
Has anybody else done half so much damage and destroyed the lives of so many of the country's best?
After he was struck off Britain's Defence Secretary, Gavin Williamson, said that prison was 'too good' for Shiner.
What? I mean, WHAT?
The truth is obvious from the facts.
The only possible reason that Phil Shiner remains free after destroying numerous lives, hamstringing the British Army, and costing us a mint is that the elites of our country approve of what he did and have no intention of deterring others from doing the same.
As Daniel Hannan put it when Shiner was struck off:
“Our legal, political and academic establishments wanted Shiner to be right. They wanted our troops to be war criminals. They wanted Britain to be disgraced.”
There is no clearer proof that the culture war is over and that we have lost.
Shiner the Moriarty of treason goes free.
But a former soldier is jailed for 70 days for burning a koran.
