Notre Dame Takeaway

Curious lack of curiosity from our journalists on this one

An interesting sequence of events.

Monday, 15th April 6:20pm: Fire starts in Notre Dame. Staff makes checks but find nothing until second alarm sounds 20 minutes later.

Later that day: Prosecutors Rule Out Arson at Paris' Famous Notre Dame Cathedral as Firefighters Extinguish Blaze - Time.

Friday, 19th: A police official revealed that an electrical short-circuit most 'likely' caused the devastating blaze at Notre-Dame - Independent.

Saturday, 20th: 'Experts now believe the inferno was started by a discarded cigarette' - Express.

Wednesday, 24th April: 'The contractor renovating Notre Dame has admitted that scaffolders flouted a smoking ban during works but denied it caused the devastating blaze' - Daily Mail.

Then this in yesterday's Guardian:

Thursday, 25th: 'French police scientists have entered Notre Dame cathedral for the first time to begin gathering evidence on the cause of the fire that devastated the roof and destroyed the spire last week.'

Isn't that all the wrong way round?

How was the Public Prosecutors' Office able to 'rule out' arson 10 days before police scientists were able to investigate the ruins? It's as if they don't want to know how this iconic cathedral was gutted.

Check out this tweet.

They missed the biggest superlative.

Priceless treasures rescued
300 million euros donated (now a cool billion)
400 firefighters

But

Not one MSM journalist investigating the gutting of France's most famous cathedral.

Despite the context of ever increasing attacks on France's churches including the over 800-year-old Basilica of Saint-Denis and Saint Sulpice in Paris.

Despite the fire occurring in Holy Week which along with Christmas is the most popular time for attacks on Christians.

Despite the fire starting at the ideal time just after the cathedral closed, so reducing the chance of the perpetrator and/or fire being spotted.

What are they afraid of finding out?

And as a side issue, why is it only 'far-right' journalists who are interested in the glee show by many Muslims on social media at the destruction of Notre Dame?

That's the biggest takeaway from the Notre Dame fire.
