Amazement and disgust but no action
Last year the Evening Standard reported that 59 Police officers had been fired or disciplined for racism in the past 5 years.
A brief Google search reveals that Britain's other 42 police forces are equally tough on racism offences, which often amount to no more than an outburst on Facebook or to a colleague after a hard day policing Britain's vibrant cities.
In short cracking down on racism is a high priority for British police.
Dozens of cops are fired every year for racism.

The Rotherham Muslim rape families were able to operate openly for decades because the police: refused to investigate; turned distressed rape victims away; suppressed reports; 'lost' evidence; branded the rape of underage girls 'consensual sex'; and fired whistleblowers. As a direct result at least 1510 mostly underage girls were repeatedly raped, gang-raped, tortured, threatened, and even murdered.
The Sunday Times broke the Rotherham story back in 2012.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) identified 91 police officers with allegations against them.
To date not a single police officer has been held to account. In all the completed investigations it has been found that the accused had 'no case to answer in relation to officer conduct'.
No cops are fired for the this most disgusting dereliction of duty.

British police face a very simple risk calculation:
Allegations of racism will destroy their career.
Extreme misconduct in their treatment of underage rape victims has no consequences.
It is good to finally see some of the Muslim rape families face justice even if their sentences (and served time) are in no way proportionate to their crimes.
But that is not nearly enough.
We will only know that we've turned the corner on dealing with Muslim rape families when police get punished and are seen to be punished for their part in this crime of the century.
