Give Thanks

Give thanks for a country at peace with itself

Christmas is the time to forget all the petty irritations of the modern world. It is the season to count our blessings. We need to remember just how much better off we are in today's Britain than our primitive and barbarous forebears. And with that in mind:

• let’s give thanks that our leaders had the wisdom to limit Muslim immigration after 9/11. Imagine the situation we’d be facing now if rather than using every device to reduce the inflow of this inassimilable religion they had in fact doubled it!

• give thanks too that we are a united people and that consequently the security services don’t have to keep an eye on thousands of our fellow citizens round the clock to prevent them murdering the rest of us.

• and thank God we don’t live in a country where the police and government could be so corrupt as to ignore the bestial activities of rape gangs. Visualize if you can a Britain where such syndicates of evil were allowed to get away with violating thousands of underage victims for a decade or more. Inconceivable!

• and give thanks that the days when people were jailed for mocking religion are long past.

• let’s hear it too for all those brave journalists who daily challenge bigotry and intolerance. Let’s face it, there is no way that any British newspaper could have been prevented from publishing the Danish cartoons after those squalid Muslim enforcers had threatened the cartoonists with death.

• And on that subject let’s not forget our fearless artists who having mocked mighty Christianity to death never let an opportunity pass to remind us how founder of the “religion of peace” personally ordered murders, rapes and enslavements and slept with a nine-year-old girl! No wonder everyone laughs whenever Muslims demand respect for Mohammad.

• let us also take confidence in the solid base of our economy. Imagine if we, the former workshop of the world, had destroyed our productive sector and now lived in an Alice in Wonderland fantasy only sustained by ever greater borrowing.

• and thank goodness that our future elite now at university recognise the vital importance of freedom of speech. After all if our smartest young people rejected this fundamental basis of our progress what hope would there be for the future?

• and thank God we live in a country where a nurse can say a prayer for a colleague or a patient without getting suspended.

• and give thanks that more than a hundred thousand British girls haven’t had  their genitalia mutilated so depriving them of sexual pleasure their whole lives simply to satisfy the religious bigotry of ignorant parents. And a special thank you here to the feminist groups that have fought so tirelessly for the rights of these innocent victims.

• take also some consolation from the fact also that animals are humanely slaughtered in Britain and do not have their throats cut while fully conscious as in some barbaric lands.

• give thanks too that we can engage in that basic right of every free people: to speak our minds without fear of losing our jobs or liberty.

• and thank God for our legal system that treats everybody the same regardless of their sex, race or religion. Imagine how shameful it would be if it didn’t do that.

• and it’s so heartening to see how fast openly hostile foreign enemies and hate preachers are given the bum’s rush off our island and back to the benighted lands already ruined by their vicious bigotry. Not for us the soft-headed conceit that tolerance of intolerance is the highest virtue.

• and finally let’s give thanks that we don’t need to deploy heavily armed police and soldiers to guard against mass murder on our streets. Ours is truly a land at peace with itself.

Then after considering these very many reasons for thankfulness we should never forget that the current state of Britain is no happy accident. When we give thanks for our modern and free United Kingdom we must remember the men whose wise leadership has made it all possible.

When I think of them I am reminded of an inscription to Sir Christopher Wren, the architect of St Paul's, “Reader, if you seek his monument ─ look around you.” And as I look around me at modern Britain my eyes well with tears. And I would just like to say to you Dave, Gordon, Tony and John we appreciate what you’ve done, and only wish we could find an appropriate way to express it.

  1. John, with your permission, I'd like to send this out to everyone listed in my email address book - hope it can go viral. With a bit of luck it may even end up in the in-boxes of our gutless politicians, and all those responsible for towing the Trojan horse into our backyard.
Best wishes, merry Christmas and a happy, safe and prosperous New Year.

  2. Thank you for a brilliant piece of satire, well written. I hope, as bristol says, it ends up in the post box of our gutless politicians

  3. Re the 'peaceful demonstrators' above and the police - there was a report a couple of months ago or so in the DM where a policeman who pushed a anti-capitalism protester with shield and broke his tooth WAS JAILED (Yes, you read correctly, the policeman was jailed!). No wonder the police were wary of them in the video above. Probably the crowd included several sympathetic journalists and human rights lawyers looking to get a bit of compensation for a demonstrator and as a bonus send a policeman to jail.
We are well and truly on the path to national suicide.

  5. Except our politicians would not 'get' the sarcasm, but would instead pat themselves on the back.

For the fascist left, the destruction of our once civilised culture is a job well done.
